HOUSE GROUPS
The House Groups consist of a two very friendly groups who meet together
once a fortnight for Fellowship, prayer, discussion and bible Study.
They have issued an open invitation to all members of the congregation
to attend a Bible Study from the Old Testament with group discussion led
by Father Andrew. This will be a great
opportunity to meet up and to benefit from his guidance and knowledge,
combined with a sense of mission to promote our fellowshiptogether.
Refreshments will be available. All very welcome.

7.00p.m. in the Church.

OBSERVING LENT IN MARCH
Lent began on Ash Wednesday on 17th February and continues for forty
days until Palm Sunday on 28th March. Do make a note in your diaries
about the following events for Lent.
Ecumenical Lent Groups
Neil Macdonald organises these for Churches Together in Bognor and
please contact him if you would like to attend tel. 01243 820321
The Ecumenical Lent Groups that are
arranged annually by Churches Together in Bognor Regis and District are
a much valued opportunity for Christians from the different churches
across the town to meet together in fellowship and jointly undertake
some bible based study. This year just under one hundred of us in ten
groups will be using the new York Course “When I Survey…Christ’s cross
and ours” and we hope to have a good time, meet some new friends, and
find that this material gives us a deeper understanding of the faith we
share. As with previous York Courses, this one includes a well written
and presented Study Booklet for all those who participate. I shall again
be leading and hosting one of the groups.
Wednesday Evening Services in Church

The Cross: Meditations on a Theme

Each week a famous picture or sculpture of the Cross
will be portrayed and this will provide a focus for readings, prayers
and a short address.
(*14th March will be our normal Choral Evensong
format)
The final meditation will be done in the Good Friday
Liturgy which will follow a traditional service pattern as part of the
Liturgy for Holy Week.
These meditations will help us as we observe the
Stations of the Cross and on Good Friday.
7:30pm Tuesday 9th March 2010
St. Mary's Church
Felpham
Talk by The Rev. Canon
Andrew White
'The Vicar of Bagdad'
The
Reverend Canon Andrew White “The Vicar of Baghdad” will be talking about
his ministry and work in Iraq and promises to be a fascinating evening.
The talk will take place in St. Mary’s church at 7.30pm and there
will be coffee and biscuits to follow.
Because of the nature of this event I would very much like to open it
up to all the churches in Bognor Regis and district. The church can
accommodate 300 people at most, so seating is at a premium. If you, and
members of your congregation would like to join us, please could I ask
you to contact my secretary by 19th February 2010 to indicate the number
of seats you require. We will do all we can to accommodate as many as
possible.
An A4 poster is attached, which we hope will be useful to promote the
evening. If you would like more information about Andrew and his work,
please do visit www.frrme.org. the website of The Foundation for Relief
and Reconciliation in the Middle East.
We look forward to welcoming you to St Mary’s.
